ברשימה שלפניכם קיבצנו שורה של מחקרים מרכזיים בשנים האחרונות (וגם מחקרים קלאסיים ישנים יותר) שהיו נקודות ציון משמעותיות במחקר ובהבנה של תופעת האובדנות. כמובן שרשימה זו חלקית לגמרי וישנם עוד מאמרים חשובים רבים, אבל היא ממצה מחקרים דומיננטיים בהתאם לנושאים שלהלן. לכל מאמר מצורף לינק שמוביל לתקציר המאמר או למאמר המלא ברשת.

אנו רואים/ות ברשימה זו כלי עזר מרכזי לחוקר/ת הצעיר/ה. מתוך הרשימה אפשר לדלות את המחקרים המרכזיים שנעשו בתחום הרלוונטי, ומשם ניתן להמשיך ולמצוא מחקרים נוספים בתחום.

הרשימה בנויה על פי תשעה נושאים מרכזיים והיא מבוססת על הספר התאבדות (suicide) של קית' האטון ורורי אוקונור. אנו מקווים/ות שהרשימה תלך ותתארך, ובמיוחד תוכל לעזור לא.נשים המתחילים/ות את דרכם/ן במחקר בנושא חשוב זה.
